Applications for assistance from the Medical Benevolent Association of Queensland must be in written form and should be forwarded to the Honorary Secretary of the Association. Applicants need to explain their financial situation and to document their assets and liabilities. A standardised form for this purpose is available on this website. The form should be completed and forwarded with any other relevant information. Applications are considered by a members of the Board of Directors of the Association. Applicants will be advised of the result of their applications as soon as possible after the Board has considered the matter.
The resources of the Association are limited and grants from the Association are distributed carefully and to those unfortunate members of the profession who are in greatest need of assistance. There is no guarantee that every application will be successful, but the Board will endeavour to carefully scrutinize and assess each application on its merits relative to the other requests for assistance.
